Duration: 8 days and 7nights
Description: An 8-day journey that will have you reliving the world of Christ. Visit his place of birth, ministry and walk in the footsteps of his final journey. Add to this the mystery surrounding the Pyramids and the Sphinx and you have memories to last a lifetime.
Day 1: Amman
Once you arrive at Amman, the group will be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel Dana Plaza or one in a similar category.
Day 2: Mount Nebo-Jericho-Nazareth
Breakfast at hotel. The group will proceed to Madaba (The City of Mosaics) and Mount Nebo. Enroute, you will see a panoramic view of Amman. The road journey, towards Mount Nebo, south of Amman, along the 5,000 year-old King’s Highway, is one of the most memorable in the Holy Land. The road passes through several ancient sites of Jordan, among which are the memorial of Prophet Moses, and the presumed site of his death and burial.
From a platform in front of the church, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Then the group will be taken to Allenby Bridge. From there, you will go to Jericho, where you can see the Qarantal, the Traditional Mount of Temptation and the Sycamore Tree. It is also the place where Jesus stopped, at Zachaeus’s house, and cured a blind man, on the eve of the Passover, on his way to Jerusalem.
Thereafter, the group will proceed to Nazareth, the boyhood town of Jesus Christ and the home of Mary and Joseph. You can visit the Basilica of the Annunciation built over the grotto where the Archangel Gabriel appeared and told Mary she would be bearing a child, Jesus. The next stop is Joseph’s Workshop and the Tomb of the Just. Later, the group will proceed to Tiberius.
Hotel Check in: Hotel King Solomon or similar. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged.
Day 3: Galilee Sea – Capernaum – Jordan River Cana
The group will be driven through the landscapes of Galilee and, later, everybody can go for a ride in a replica of an ancient Galilean fishing boat, on the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus calmed the storm and walked on the water.
The next stop will be at Capernaum – the Centre of Jesus’ ministry after he left Nazareth. Following that is a halt at Tabgha – the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. A visit to the Church of the Beatitudes has been arranged, where Jesus gave the famous Sermon on the Mount. There is a brief halt at St. Peter’s House, the place where Jesus bestowed St. Peter with his authority. This is believed to be the place where Jesus dined with His disciples on a flat rock known as Mensa Christ. A table commemorates this event. Then there is a stop at Yardenit, on the Jordan River, the traditional baptismal site. You will then visit Cana, where Jesus performed His first Miracle: changing water into wine at a wedding feast. On the way to Tiberius, there is a stop at Mt. Tabor, the sacred site of the Transfiguration. Dinner and overnight stay is at the Tiberius Hotel.
Day 04: Haifa – Mount Carmel – Jerusalem
First stop: Jaffa (Joppa). You can see the house of Simon the Tenor, and visit St. Peter’s Church. The tour proceeds, via Caesarea, to Haifa, Israel’s largest port city, built on the slopes of Mt. Carmel. There, you can visit the Famous Persian Hanging Gardens and see the Bahai Shrine. There is a brief halt at the “Home of Eujoh” and then the tour continues to the Muhraqa. This is where Prophet Elijah defeated the false prophets of Ba’al. Then, it is onwards to the Monastery of the Cross to Mt. Zion. You can also see the church of St. Peter of Gallicantu, which symbolises Peter’s Denial of Jesus, as he had prophesied at the Last Supper. Following this, there is a walk through the Jewish quarter to the Wailing Wall, which is the holiest place for the Jews. Overnight at Bethlehem.
You will visit the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. And you will also get to visit the Sactuares of Pater Nester Assension. Then you can walk along the Palm Sunday road to the chapel of Dorminous.
Flevit and the Garden of Gethsemane: The tour continues to Mt. of Olives for a panoramic view, and from there to Dominos Flavit where Jesus wept over the imminent destruction of Jerusalem. The chapel is built in the shape of a tear as a poignant reminder of this event. Next is a visit to the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed, while Judas betrayed him to the Romans. The tour proceeds to the Basilica of Agony and the Tomb of St Mary. You will then go on to John the Baptist, the son of Elizabeth and Zachariah and the location of the church of the Visitation.
The tour will then move to Bethlehem, where the angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds during the reign of King Herod, it was here that David tended his flock before he was anointed king of Israel. The next stop is the Church of Nativity – the birth place of Jesus and city of David. Dinner and overnight is at Shepherds Hotel or similar in Bethlehem
Day 5: Old City Of Jerusalem – Golgotha
The tour begins with a visit to the pools of Beit Hasda, where Jesus held a crippled man. The next stop is Via Dolorosa (Way of Grief), which is traditionally accepted as the last route taken by Jesus. You can follow the 14 Stations of the Cross, to Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified. You can see Pontius Pilate’s Judgment Hall, the Chapel of the Flagellation, where, according to scriptures, the Roman soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus’s head. Then there is the Ecce Homo Arch and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion. Below the Convent are the Lithotrities. This is where Jesus was publicly tied, and the Roman soldiers mocked him.
The last five Stations of the Cross are inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Also “the Tomb” is visible, which is believed to be part of the stone that covered the tomb of Jesus. We will visit St. Mark’s Convent, the place where Mary went to sleep after the Crucifixion. This was where the Last Supper was held and the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles during the Pentecost. The next site is the Cenacle – the tomb of King David. Overnight Stay at Hotel in Bethlehem.
Day 6: Dead Sea – Mount Sinai
After breakfast, the group visits the private beach of the Dead Sea where you can float on the salty buoyant water, rich in minerals. We will then proceed to Sinai via Taba border and visit the St. Catherine Monastery and Mount Sinai among other sights. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Hotel Morgenland or a similar place.
Day 07: Cairo
Breakfast at hotel. We will visit Cairo next for the Pyramids, Sphinx and the old churches of Cairo. You will stay overnight at Hotel Zoser or something similar in Cairo.
Day 08: Cairo
Breakfast at Hotel will be followed by a visit to the Museum, the Papyrus factory, Perfume factory and more. From here you will depart for the airport to board your flight back home.
