From bullet trains to geishas, the Japanese move at a frenetic, albeit organized, pace that tends to stand still for those serene sips of good Japanese tea that leave you feeling like nirvana is much closer than you think.
Day 1: Arrive at Tokyo.
Our representative will meet you at Narita International Airport, and you will be transferred to your hotel where you can spend the rest of your day at leisure exploring a truly modern city that gives you glimpses into its past with its cultural core.
Tokyo: This enchanting capital of Japan is a magnificent representation of everything Japanese. Shopping districts that give you quick previews of the latest fashion and gadgets almost as soon as they are developed rub shoulders with hidden gardens and buildings that were once part of the Imperial Castle.
Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Tokyo
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, proceed for a breathtaking tour through Tokyo. Visit the observation deck, Meiji Shinto Shrine and the city center.
Observation Deck: Offering panoramic 360° views across the city including Mount Fuji on clear mornings, the observation deck at Tokyo Tower is worth every moment of vertigo you might hope to avoid(this is 13 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris) standing at 333 meters.
Meiji Shinto Shrine: Dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his consort, this is Japan’s most splendid Shinto shrine with numerous photo opportunities and tranquil environs.
City Center: Heading into the center of the city, you will stop at the large plaza in front of the Imperial Palace east gardens for a view of the the Nijubashi (two bridges that form an entrance to the inner palace grounds).
Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 3: Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Hakone – Kyoto
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and leave for Mt. Fuji.
A drive up Japan’s highest mountain with spectacular views is a perfect way to start your day at 2,300 meters. Enjoy a delicious Japanese lunch. Proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi, then a cable car ride to Owakudani .
Later that evening, take a Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto that covers a distance of 430 miles. With its Zen rock gardens and air of traditionalism, Kyoto boasts an impressive catalog of 1,700 well-preserved Buddhist temples and 300 Shinto shrines.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kyoto.
Kyoto: This magical fusion of old and new embodies Japan’s unique ability to fuse modern living with ancient traditions. From tea ceremonies to mysterious geisha, Kyoto gives you a glimpse into early Japanese culture. Visit the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion) one of Kyoto’s most famous and elaborate attractions, and the Nijo Castle, noted for its gorgeous interiors. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at the Kyoto Handicraft Centre after which you may proceed to Nara to visit Todaiji Temple that houses the Great Buddha and the colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine with 3,000 lanterns.
A trip to the Nara Park (Deer Park) leaves you with unforgettable memories of tame deer roaming free in serene greens.
Return to Kyoto, overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 : Depart Kyoto
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, bid farewell to this charming city and you will be transferred to Kansai Airport (Osaka) to board your flight back home or your next destination.
