Description: Explore the vast grasslands and evergreen forests of Kaziranga on this trip. By jeep and on elephant-back make yourself familiar with the fascinating flora & fauna and experience the unspoiled wilderness. Enjoy the spectacular view and the rest of Diphlu River Lodge and dive into the ravishing city of Kolkata.

Day 01: Arrival in Kolkata (-/-/-)
Upon your arrival you will be welcomed by our staff at the airport. He will assist you and guide you to your hotel. Experience on the way the proud, packed city of Kolkata, with their crumbling Victorian jewel architecture.
Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Kolkata (B/-/-)
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel we invite you to take a tour of the city. Visit the Victoria Memorial Hall, a fantastic museum that takes you to the past with photos and portraits of famous personalities.

You can also see the Howrah Bridge, which apart from surviving the stormy weather in the region, bears the weight of daily traffic of 80,000 vehicles, and possibly more than 1,000,000 pedestrians. It is the sixth longest bridge of its kind in the world. Experience also fascinating Jain temples and the Calcutta zoo, India’s oldest zoo. It opened in 1876 as a zoo, and includes 18 acres of land. The zoo is home to one of the few breeding projects, such as the Manipur Brow-deer. A female elephant baby, who was abandoned by his family, is the newest member of the zoo. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Kolkata – Jorhat – Kaziranga (B/-/D)
After breakfast, leave for the airport and fly to Jorhat. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative at the airport and off we go for the wild ride – Kaziranga (2 hrs). On the way, enjoy the first glimpses of the glorious landscape. On arrival, check into the Diphlu River Lodge. Enjoy the rest of the day in the cozy lodge. Look forward to a hearty dinner and then round off the day with the sights and sounds of the adjacent river.

Day 04:Kaziranga (B/L/D)
Just after waking up in the immediate vicinity of nature and indulging in a sumptuous breakfast, prepare for a day of two safaris by jeep and elephant! Kaziranga is a World Heritage Site and home to more than 75% of the stock of the great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. 
It further provides a unique habitat for many animals. Explore the grasslands with the cane, elephant grass and the tall trees of the evergreen forest. All this is with many waters, swamps and shallow ponds interspersed. The main wild animals, besides the rhinoceros, are the Asian water buffalo, wild elephant, tiger, leopard, swamp deer, barking deer, Sambar and Hog Deer. More than 400 bird species have been sighted in the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 05: Kaziranga (B/L/D)
Today you can relive two jeep safaris, and hopefully see all the animals that you did not meet the previous day. Kaziranga has the highest density of tigers among all reserves in the world. So here are your best chances of spotting a tiger. Later, quietly relax on the porch, while you let all the beautiful moments pass by. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 06: Kaziranga – Jorhat – Kolkata (B/-/-)
Enjoy today with an elephant safari guide. After breakfast, mount your elephant and once again move into the world of animals and unspoiled nature. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight from Jorhat to Kolkata. Upon arrival you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 07: Departure from Kolkata (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel to the airport for your onward flight.
